Let's face it. We just don't have the time our mothers had to make dinner for the family. This quick spaghetti sauce has become a week night stand-by and the alternative to a jarred sauce (may lightening strike me down). If you're health conscious, substitute ground turkey for the ground beef. If you're craving the full flavor of a traditional sauce, substitute meat loaf.
1 pound ground beef or meat loaf (beef, veal and pork mix)
1/2 onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 can tomatoes, blended
1 can tomato paste, small
1/2 t basil
couple pinches oregano
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
1/2 t sugar
1 tomato paste can of water
Mix all ingredients together and simmer for 45 minutes to one hour.
