Lava Cake

If the way to your family's heart is through their stomachs, then this luscious lava cake is a certain hit. The frosting melts during baking to create an oozing lava filling that kids and adults love. Plus, with a prep time of only 15 minutes from box to table, this is a recipe you'll surely want to keep up your sleeve for those last minute desserts!

1 box of cake mix along with necessary ingredients to prepare - usually oil, water and eggs
1 can of ready to spread frosting
ice cream or whipped cream for topping

  1. Grease or spritz with oil the inside of a microwaveable cake pan or stoneware pan.
  2. Prepare cake batter according to directions on box and pour prepared cake mix into your pan.
  3. Scoop tablespoon-sized dollops of icing onto the cake batter. Use the entire can!
  4. Microwave uncovered for 11-12 minutes. If your microwave does not rotate, turn the pan halfway through the cook time.
  5. Serve immediately! Scoop warm lava cake into a bowl and top with ice cream or whipped cream.
