Key Lime Pie is one of my husband's all time favorite desserts. This recipe is from a magnet I brought home from Key West, Florida and is definitely worth sharing.
Ingredients
Graham cracker crust
3 eggs
1 – 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
½ cup lime juice
4 T sugar
½ tsp cream of tartar
1/2 tsp vanilla
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Separate the eggs into two bowls – yolks and whites. Blend 3 egg yolks and sweetened condensed milk. Slowly add lime juice. Pour into prepared pie shell. Beat egg whites until stiff. Add sugar, cream of tartar and vanilla. Bake at 375 degrees until brown. Serve chilled.
